As much as we’d love to say “beach reads,” living smack dab in the middle of the country doesn’t always qualify us for living the beach life. But poolside, yes.
And with kids who are old enough and competent enough to swim, that means L I V I N’. However, it means not being upset if you’re in the thick of a whodunnit and your kids start dunking each other under water. So books need to be easy to look away from.

A beautiful recipe book on flower arranging. Inspiring, for any level of florist. Our flower-farmin’ mama has this on her coffee table right now, and I may have tried to steal it from her.
An engrossing autobiography of a woman scientist, struggling with mental health issues and engaging layman to botany. Maybe not as easy to pick up and put down, but worth adding to the list!
Selina Lake: Garden Style: Inspirational Styling for your Outside Space
We LOVE LOVE LOVE us some Selina Lake. Her more-is-more style is charming and wonderful, and she has the best eye for putting it all together. Her new Garden Style book is drool worthy.
