Maybe it’s because our high school senior photos were less than stellar (hint: don’t choose a photographer just because they offer a twin discount), or maybe it’s because we wanted to have an excuse to get dressed up and have a fancy tea party. Whatever the reason is, it doesn’t matter. We do recommend, however, having yourself a fancy photo shoot for no particular reason, like an unbirthday!
Our friend Andi over at Designing Indie is brill.iant. BRILLIANT. We follow her work and knew that she had to be our photographer and stylist. Her work is stunning, and she brings to the table vision that goes above and beyond what we could imagine. She did our hair and makeup, and we collaborated on a vision of a European-style tea party in the middle of nowhere.
Take a peek and then keep reading for inspiration to do your own tea party.

Stephanie provided the props, such as vintage swan planters and cake stands
. Flowers from her garden and little cakes from the local grocery store added opulence for little extra cost.
We added tasty treats like macarons and our favorite bottles of bubbly (Mumm and Sofia Coppolla are always a splurge!), and a some light reading. Voila!

Feeling a bit witchy here, with our black tulle party skirts and mystical cloud coverage. The photo backdrop is my own creation, which you can get on Society6!
The true beauty of this shoot was our mom’s 10-acres of land in Highlandville. Which, is for sale, if you need a stunning place to throw a party!
We hope we inspired you to do something fun for yourself, if not a bit outlandish!
